I decided to share some thoughts with you all to help your slide into what some call the "Last Days"(*cough* bullshit) as smooth as possible.
One night round midnight, I went to the Hamza deli on 18th st. & 5th Ave. Brooklyn. My roommate said he always gave her something for free. Incense, candles, beer, whatevs. I thought, "How nice." So I go in there for my usual staples, Budweiser, Camels(yes, STILL), and toilet paper. I was hoping to be the recipient of one of his gifts. My heart beat faster as I edged up to the cash register. "Am I too fat, too ugly, too black, to get something from this guy? And why is it so important", I wondered?The man, the sweet Bangladeshi workaholic (they never closed) saw me and smiled. He motioned to his left. "You take! You like? You take!" I reached for the incense. He shook his head. He gave me something else. Peanuts. WTF. She gets incense. I get peanuts.. #rememberingyourspirit.
